How do I buy MzansiSMS credit?

MzansiSMS credit can be bought nationwide. You have two options:

One. Spot a MzansiSMS Vendor in your area - there could be one in your local church, school, community. The Vendor will transfer credit to your 087 account if you pay them cash!

Two. Visit any Pick 'n Pay, Shoprite Checkers or BP and buy a UKash voucher - R10 or R50 voucher. You will see a PIN code on the UKash voucher. Now open up MzansiSMS on your cellphone - Select Options - Load Voucher and just enter the PIN number.

How does MzansiSMS work?

Every MzansiSMS customer, gets their very own 087 number! Yes, you too. You will be able to keep your normal cellphone number too, so don't worry! All replies to the SMSes you send will come back to your normal cellphone number so you won't miss out on any responses.

MzansiSMS is able to provide such cheap SMSes by sending your SMSes over the Internet on your cellphone. Yes, you do have access to the internet from your mobile operator. This does mean that you need to have some credit on your cellphone SIM card to be able to connect to your mobile operator's internet network GPRS/EDGE/3G. MzansiSMS uses very little of your cellphone credit - you will be able to send 50 SMS messages for less than 5c of your cellphone credit. The mobile operator usually requires that you have a minimum of R2 on your cellphone airtime.

One last thing. At the end of each SMS sent on MzansiSMS, there will be a small 100 character text advertisement. You will be glad to know, that this advert is not included in the cost of the SMS and you will not be paying for the adverts. It's just another way for us to lower the prices for SMSes.
